Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many books are in the Heven and Hell series?
A: Four novels and four short stories!
Q: Where did you get the idea for the Heven and Hell series?
A: One day I was wondering the aisles of a bookstore when I thought to myself: what if I wrote a book about a girl who was disfigured? I wondered what she would be like and if people would like reading about someone who didn’t like the way they looked, who felt uncomfortable in her own skin. I think that there are a lot of people who feel that way (disfigured or not) and I thought Heven might be a character that would be different than the heroine that has it all. Then I started to wonder how she got disfigured, what happened to her and the story grew from there.
Q: What project are currently working on?
A: Right now I am working on Tipsy, the nest Take It Off novel. Also coming up I will be working on Adam and Roxie’s story (remember them from Tease?) and Borrowed, the next Death Escorts novel.
Q: Who is your cover designer?
A: Regina Wamba from Mae I Design http://www.maeidesign.com
Q: Is there a movie in the works for the Heven and Hell Series?
A: Not at this time, but hopefully someday! I currently own the film/television rights to the series but I am open to any movie offers.
Q: Are you an Indie author?
A: Yes I am! Originally I was published through a small Indie publisher called Otherworld Publications but they sadly had to close their doors so I decided to go Indie!
Q: Do you have anything to say to your fans?
A: I love you!! I appreciate you. Every single comment, FB post, email… I thank you so much for the support. I sincerely am grateful to everyone who takes the time to read my books. I am just so thrilled and humbled that so many of you have enjoyed Heven and Sam.
Q: Who are your favorite authors?
A: I have a long list but to name a few: Jennifer Armentrout, Cameo Renae, Amber Garza, R.L. Stine, and more!
Q: What inspires you to write?
A: My characters and their stories. It’s a great escape. But also, everything around me. Inspiration can come from just about anything!
Q: What are some struggles you face as a writer?
A: I had a hard time finding a publisher. I never could find an agent, I was rejected for this series and another series I wrote (still unpublished) about 100 times. I never gave up because writing is my dream and I had stories I wanted to tell. But then Otherworld came along and gave me a chance and I was sooo happy. Now, I struggle with time management, balancing family life with writing, promoting and answering emails, keeping up with my blog, etc. I wish I had more time to just write. But I also realize that my busy schedule is a blessing because that means that people are liking what I am doing and that is wonderful.
