Same series – New look!

I’m so excited to share with you a completely new rebrand of the House of Misfit series! I’ve been working on this since the beginning of the year and its been a lot of work switching things over, deciding on a new look, re-writing blurbs and re-formatting, but it’s all come to together and I’m excited to finally bring it all to you!

All six House of Misfit books all have brand new covers and brand new blurbs! The covers are designed by Cover Me Darling (the same designer who did the originals) and I think they are beautiful. I love love the white and gray tones and the city scape behind them.

You’re probably asking… why? Why did I rebrand this series?

Because I want to reach more readers. New readers. I wanted to give this series a better chance at selling, because I feel it is underrated.

When I first published this series, I took a creative chance. I don’t regret it – well, maybe I do, only because I feel like it’s my fault these books haven’t done better. The mistake (to me) was writing the blurbs with a “fairy tale” flare. Because these books are inspired by fairy tales. But, i think, and maybe I’m wrong, people don’t want to read that. At least not from me. But they aren’t just inspired by fairy tales. They’re contemporary. They are suspense, action, found family. Romance. Diverse. MM and MF.

So I wanted blurbs and covers that show everything they are!

*side note: I’d like to say this series hasn’t done terribly. It’s done well enough, and the readers who have found it really love it, the way I do. It has an audience, and the reviews are overall favorable. I just feel it could be a bit better, you know? I want to see if I can help it reach more readers.

The new blurbs are contemporary, in the character’s POV’s and really get into what each book is about.

I also re-did all the marketing on the amazon product pages. New graphics, new excerpts, new look! If you have a moment check them out!

But, Cambria. I love the original covers. Why are you doing this to me?

Thanks for asking. LOL

The original covers are now special edition paperbacks!

I do love them so I’m keeping them. I’m just expanding the brand. The new paperbacks feature the new covers, new blurbs and have new title pages.

The special edition paperbacks have the illustrated covers and the blurbs and title pages that lend a more modern fairy tale look!

(the e-books have the new cover and blurbs and the audio books have the original illustrated covers bc those are with a publisher and I can’t change them)

Whew, that was a bit longer of an explanation than I planned on giving, but hey, now you know some of the behind the scenes things! If you’ve made it this far, thank you!

So now let me show you the NEWLY REBRANDED HOUSE OF MISFIT SERIES!

I wrote my number on a napkin.
She swore she’d never call.
But that was before she needed bail.

She showed up at the bar, completely out of place. Wide blue eyes scouring every corner, searching the shadows like she expected them to swallow her whole.
I thought her kind of beauty only existed in storybooks, but then she opened her mouth.
Frankly, it ruined her face.
Aloof, unfriendly, insulting.
So yeah, I stood there and watched her get arrested. Didn’t lift a single finger to help.
Didn’t feel one ounce of guilt as she got hauled away in cuffs.

Then she calls. Uses the number I scrawled on a napkin and stuffed into her pocket while I was still enchanted by her beauty.
I scoff.
She whispers my name.
And now she’s on our couch, the five of us staring down at her as if we’ve never seen a girl.
To be fair, they don’t make them like her in the Grimms.
When she opens her eyes, I remember why I let her get arrested.
Maddening, ridiculous, completely helpless.
It’s no wonder someone wants her dead.
But the more entangled I get with Ivory, the more I realize she’s more than I thought. So much more that my flatlined, cold heart starts to revive.
Suddenly, it doesn’t matter I’m a thief and she’s a princess.
All that matters is keeping her alive.

Life has always been about one thing for me: Survival.
I wear scuffed-up, hand-me-down shoes and too-big jeans and share a one-bedroom apartment with my three brothers. I’m not great at holding down a job, so I busk in the subway and pick other people’s pockets to fill mine.
Oh, and my mother wishes I’d never been born, a fact she makes sure to hurl in my face every time I see her. It’s just one more thing to prove the odds of life have never been in my favor.
But still, I’m lucky. I have the misfits and my violin. Most days, I’m really good at ignoring the echo of loneliness deep in my bones. Until Ethan finds me in the park and the melody that’s always playing in my heart finally makes sense.
He’s everything I’m not. Tall, commanding, and so handsome it hurts my eyes. He lives in the most elite part of the city and has probably never once had to steal to eat. He’s not like you’d expect, though—stuck-up, snobby, or mean. He’s protective and warm… He makes me feel safe. He doesn’t care that I don’t have a coat or a penny to my name. He just wants me.
I’ve never had a relationship. I’ve never even been kissed. No one has ever chosen me before.
But how can we be together?
He’s Upper East Side royalty, and I’m a misfit…
Or so I thought.

I’m a businessman. My business? Killing.
Most would assume being an assassin is a no-rules kind of profession. It’s not. There are eight rules to being a hitman for hire. I’ve never had a problem with any of them until my best friend went and fell in love with my mark.
And now he hates me. Which, frankly, makes him an asshole because I didn’t even kill her.
Still, when he calls and offers me a chance to get back into his good graces by helping him out with his little sister, I agree.
Then what do I do?
Kiss her.
I have no idea why. She’s maddening and annoying. Her sunshine personality is too bright for my permanent black mood. She never shuts up and thinks everything’s exciting. And she’s a terrible driver. Runs over everything in that damn wheelchair.
It’s definitely not because of the thousands of flowers always in her hair or the way her wide hazel eyes look at me like I’m a hero and not a villain.
I am a villain. Always was and always will be.
V doesn’t know that, though, because her brother, my best friend, never told her what I did. Who I really am. He’s forbidden me to go near her, but, as I mentioned, following rules isn’t what I do.
I might want to be her hero, but I’m starting to think this girl needs a villain. Not only to free her from the cage her brother locks her in but to keep her safe from the people who realize she’s my weak spot.
People who will kill her to get to me.
But once a villain, always a villain. And if they want to get to her sunlight, they’re gonna have to walk through my darkness to get there.

I pissed off the wrong woman, and she cursed me.
Yeah, I laughed too because that’s ridiculous.
Then my life went up in flames… and so did I. Literally.
And that’s how I went from the Upper East Side’s most eligible bachelor to simply being known as Beast.
The people I expected to be there for me are nowhere to be found, and where am I? In some derelict care facility that the state should have shut down a decade ago. Seems I was only worthy of being an heir when I was charming and handsome. Now I’m abandoned, broke, and in more physical pain than I ever imagined.
Maybe my new name isn’t just due to my unsightly appearance but also because I am swollen with unfiltered rage.
My new nurse is the only one who’s been able to withstand my wrath, bursting into my room with a backbone of steel and a mouth filled with sass. I serve it up, but she dishes it back. I don’t trust Emogen, not at all. But I’m stuck with her, and she’s stuck with me.
Not just because of some deal we made either. Letting her out of my sight is enough to eradicate what little bit of man is left inside this beast.
So yeah, maybe I stalk her. Follow her. Stick my nose in her business even when she tells me to back off. It’s a good thing I do because this girl is a whole handful of trouble.
So when our troubles collide, I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure I keep her safe because the only thing I’m afraid of now is being without her.

I’m a cop. He’s a criminal.
We’re the human equivalent of oil and water.
Staying away from him would be the obvious answer. Too bad we share a one-bedroom apartment. It’s an unfortunate situation I didn’t choose but can’t do anything about. When my best friend, Earth, moved out, he offered his room to his big brother who had rolled into town from Korea to kill him… but then ended up saving him.
And now we’re all supposed to be one big happy family.
Except Daeshim is not my brother and never will be. And no one has any idea who I really am. For years, I’ve been Beau the hacker. Beau the agreeable, quiet one in the corner.
I am those things. But I’m also a cyber crimes specialist with the FBI.
Surprise!
My real identity is a secret no one can know. Because the second they find out who I really am, my cover will be blown, everything I’ve been doing will come to light, and the found family I desperately want will toss me on the street.
Or worse.
But Daeshim won’t stop staring, dissecting me with his perceptive dark eyes. I can’t stand him, yet the heavier his attention gets, the more I crave. The more I begin to wonder if I’m just nervous he will find out my secrets or somehow get into my heart.
I’m starting to crumble, the weight on my shoulders too much to hold alone. His stubborn, unruly presence challenges me, scares me, yet also somehow calms me.
When danger gets uncomfortably close, I realize the only one strong enough to save me is the very criminal I’m not supposed to trust.
