My Review (courtesy of me)
When I rented this I had a basic idea of what it was about but nothing really concrete. Sure, I have seen the Battleship game in stores but I actually have never played that one… lol. Something about the coordinates (Coordinates = numbers *shudders*) and the ships just didn’t appeal to me. But I heard that is was a good movie so I thought “what the heck” and decided to watch it.
I actually really liked this movie. It was full of action and adventure, it had that element of fantasy/sci-fi that I liked and of course, the main character was hot! What’s not to love! Plus, there were boats, aliens and some love… sounds like a good Saturday night to me.
I really like the main character “Hopper”. I thought he was a good mix of screw up and good guy. He played a good lead. I liked the premise that the whole movie (well, the majority of it) took place out on the water with the big naval boats. When I first started it I wasn’t sure I would like it after all because it was military but really it was more about the story than the Navy itself.
The plot moved pretty quickly and there was always something happening to keep my attention. I liked the aliens in this movie, they had some pretty awesome technology and weapons. I will say that I kind of got tired of seeing the boats get blown up… after a while I was like “again?” LOL, but really the action moved so fast that it hardly mattered. I mean the movie was about battleships. J
I think this movie has a little something for everyone: a storyline of love, of friendship, of determination, action, adventure, fantasy… so I think that most anyone would enjoy this movie (unless you don’t like aliens, lol).
In short, I really liked this movie. I would watch it again. All the actors did a good job and the plot was fun. What’s not to like?
So there you have it. My opinion.
