Whisper “Fact or Fiction” Blog Tour + Giveaway

Welcome everyone!!! We are here today to celebrate one of my writing bud’s newest release. You all know what a huge fan of Heather Hildenbrand I am… her Dirty Blood series rocks my socks off so I am super excited to introduce the release of Whisper, her newest Ebook!!! Today for the Whisper Tour Stop Heather is debunking some of the parts of Whisper…. can you guess which is truth or myth?

But before we get to the truth first read to see what this book is about:

 Synopsis

The Cherokee believe when a person dies, their soul is reborn. Life is repeated. An endless cycle of lessons to be learned, love to be found, destiny to be fulfilled. For the past six months, in every flower, every bird, I’ve imagined my parents, relieved of their human forms.

Qualla Boundary in NC? – Fact. The “Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians” live in a place called Qualla Boundary, or The Qualla, in western North Carolina. Here’s what Wikipedia says:

“The Cherokee domain once extended far beyond the distant mountains, but the white man, with broken treaties and fruitless promises, brought trouble to the Indians and caused their banishment to an Oklahoma reservation. A few escaped capture and fled into the Great Smokies, eventually forming the Eastern Band that now lives on the Qualla Reservation in the valley below.”

 

Fun Fact: Much of Disney’s 5-part television series, Davy Crockett (starring Fess Parker), was shot there in the mid-1950’s.

I stood on the porch, trying not to look at the police cruisers parked in the driveway. And when I did look at them, I tried not to let the memories come. But that was like trying to stop water with your hands. Enough of it got through that you were going to get wet.

I didn’t even have to think about his question. Our past was heartbreaking and our future  uncertain. All we had was this moment. “Yes.”

 I told myself it was nothing; fancy fabric couldn’t manifest a destiny any more than a person could fight it. But, although the sun still blazed with late afternoon heat, the day felt ominous. Or maybe it was me.
