The book I chose to talk about today is something that I haven’t actually read yet. LOL. It’s official release date is January 24, 2010 and I can’t wait to snag a copy. I know some of my blogging friends have read it and its been getting some good reviews. The book?
Everneath by Brodi Ashton
What I like:
What isn’t there to like? Its breathtaking. The sweeping lines, the movement and the color all work together to create a feast for the eyes. I love the way the girl is in this beautiful, vibrant dress and then this smoke – this darkness – floats up and surrounds her…almost draggin her into the mist… perhaps to take away that vibrance. And the way the smoke seems to pull at her from the left adds a touch of drama as does the color. It really is beautiful and so eye catching. I also appreciate how so much is going on but yet it’s simple.
This cover for sure goes on my list of favorites.
As I was researching this cover I stumbled across Ms. Ashton’s website and I learned that there are other covers for this book around the world. If you would like to see them then here is the link: http://brodiashton.blogspot.com/2011/11/everneath-covers-from-around-world.html
All of the covers are beautiful but I have to say the one we got here in the States is my favorite. J
I will admit I haven’t found the cover designers information *hangs head* (don’t kick me out of shelf candy Stephanie!!) but I can tell you that the book is being published by Balzer & Bray/HarperCollins and it is the first book in a trilogy so I have high hopes for the next two covers!
Here is the book synopsis courtesy of the author’s website:
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she’s returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld… this time forever.
She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.
Nikki longs to spend these months reconnecting with her boyfriend, Jack, the one person she loves more than anything. But there’s a problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who first enticed her to the Everneath, has followed Nikki to the mortal world. And he’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back- this time as his queen.
As Nikki’s time grows short and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she’s forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole’s…

Tell me your thoughts on this cover. Like, Love or Not so much?
Wow! Great pick for your first shelf candy. I love Everneath’s cover! And thank you for the link to the international covers – I’m really glad the UK one is similar, but the US version has a better font.
My shelf candy is here if you’d like a look 🙂
Hi there! Awesome pic! I stare at this cover all the time. I love the way the red dress is blown into whisps of wind. Can’t wait for this to come out!! 🙂 Happy Shelf Candy day!
Thank you Claire and Kimberly! I love this cover too and seeing the international covers was really cool too! I also think the font is better on the US cover!
Beautiful cover. I’ve heard good things about Everneath also, although I probably would’ve picked this one up based on the cover alone 🙂Steph’s Shelf Candy

Great choice for a feature. Thank you for all the extra details. I have loved the cover of Everneath from the first time I had seen it and it is a pleasure to have a look at the German cover as well. I can’t wait to read it and see for myself which cover is better for the story line.
