Today’s Stop!

Today’s Fire & Ice post is featuring the amazing Amber Garza! Amber has brought not one but TWO excerpts from two different novels that are highly anticipated!! I cannot wait for either one of them. So without delay I will turn over everything to Amber!

This Spring I have two books releasing – SHATTER: Book 2 in the Delaney’s Gift Series, and then FALLING TO PIECES, a New Adult Contemporary Romance. I am so excited about both books. They are very different from one another, but have been equally fun to write. Fans of DAZZLE will be happy to finally have the answers that were left hanging at the end of the first book in the series, and hopefully fans of contemporary romance will have fun getting to know Asher and Ivy.

Here are a couple of teasers.

The first one is an unedited scene from SHATTER in Delaney’s POV…

Hands brush over my arms and legs, and I feel the harsh material of the straps as the close over my wrists and ankles. Claustrophobia kicks in when I realize I’m trapped, and I worry that I’ll hyperventilate. So I draw in deep breaths and keep my gaze trained on the syringe. No way am I letting him stick me with whatever that is.

“W-what is that?”

Killian’s wicked smile returns. “It’s a little something our chemists have been working on.”

“You have chemists here?” I smirk, despite the fear I feel inside. I figure if I continue to act fearless maybe I can trick my mind.  “So, you mean some of you actually have brains? I just assumed all of you were goons.”

Narrowing his black eyes, Killian bends down until his face is mere inches from mine. “I don’t really think you’re in any position to be a smartass, princess.”

And here is an unedited teaser scene from FALLING TO PIECES in Asher’s POV…

She stands in the middle of the front yard, her hair billowing around her face and her cheeks flushed. She looks so good I want to kiss her right here. Only I know that would be stupid, so instead I shove my fingers down into the pocket of my jeans.

“What?” She shrugs. “It’s fine. You can go back to your girlfriend. I’m alright now.”

I step closer. “She’s not my girlfriend. Hell, I didn’t even know her until an hour ago.”

“Well, then get to know her.” She waves me away.

“I would, but there’s someone else I’d rather spend time with.” I move even closer to Ivy until we are standing only inches apart.

She tenses, but doesn’t make an effort to step away. It causes my pulse to race. Her eyes lock with mine and there’s something in them that I just can’t quite read, but I feel a connection between us that is almost palpable.

“I thought you hated me,” she says.

“I could never hate you, Ives,” I say truthfully. “Even if I wanted to.”

“So you want to hate me but you can’t?” She raises her brows. “I don’t know if that makes me feel better.”

“I know what would make me feel better.” I lower my hand and run my fingers along the hemline of her incredibly short dress. She swats my hand away and jumps back, but not before I see the smile that passes over her lips.

“Asher, stop. You’re just as bad as Dustin.”

“Is that his name? Dustin?” The familiar anger burns through me.

Ivy points a finger at me. “Don’t go after him, Asher. It’s over. I should’ve never flirted with him in the first place.”

“You flirted with him?” I curl my mouth upward. “Show me.”

Ivy rolls her eyes and groans. “Man, all guys are the same. I’m going to find Billie and get outta here.”

Before she can walk away, I grab her hand. “I’ll take you home.”

  1. Got my freebie, thanks! What a feisty cat in the first book and the second sounds like a fun antagonistic romance, those are always my favorite. Best of luck to Amber with her two releases!

  2. Thank you for sharing with us! I am looking forward to Shatter 🙂
