Welcome to my weekly meme Tell Me Something Tuesday where I ask you something and you tell me the answer!! It’s as simple as that and I thought it would be a great way for all of us bloggers to get to know one another! So this is how it works: I post a question here on my blog and then i give my answer. I invite all the bloggers to take the question and post it on their blog with their answer and we can hop around and see what everyone says! If you are a blogger don’t forget to leave your link at the bottom of this post! If you aren’t a blogger – that’s okay too!! Leave your answer in the comments section!

 Tell Me Something:

Since this Thursday is Thanksgiving (where has November gone?!) I thought I would as you about Black Friday. Its an American tradition it would seem. :-) So, do you go out on Black Friday? Why or why not? And if so what is the best deal you have gotten? What are you hoping to get this year if you go?

My answer:

Ahhhh Black Friday, getting up at an insane hour, dressing in the dark, stumbling to the car and then driving in the freezing cold to a place that the whole way there you tell yourself that no way anyone else is insane enough to do this too and then you pull into the parking lot. And its full. I think its nuts. But yeah, I usually go. LOL! I didn’t start until the past couple years – I blame it on the fac that its because I have kids and I like the toy deals. In recent years we have been going to my grnadmother’s house and I do the cooking there for the family and so my husband and I have been able to get up and go because we actually have a babysitter. I honestly think this is why we go. Because we can. Because its a chance for us to get out by ourselves and get a coffee and shop (okay my hubby doesn’t like to shop but he humors me because I do, lol). We never get up at 2 and go first thing. We usually go around 6 – I know thats still really early (and I am NOT a morning person) but I like to get the DS game deals and a few little things like that that get picked over if I don’t go early. I have never gone for a big ticket item and I have never gotten in a fight over something.

I think people who haggle and get in fights over stuff are INSANE. lol. Its not worth it. I think people who stand in heinously long lines are insane – unless its something they truly want.

I would say the best deal I have gotten so far on a black friday was on a Flat screen TV. I got a 48 inch (i think) for like 6 or 700 $ but I can’t remember exactly. maybe it was less. It was a few years ago and we didn’t have a flat screen we had the “old” kind that were like big boxes. I was excited only because I could hang it on the wall and save space, LOL!

This year I am hoping to score a deal on a Wii (I think we are the only people that don’t have one… lol) and a Kindle Fire, which my daughter really wants. But I won’t be fighting or crying if I don’t get a deal. I’ll just get one later, LOL!

Also, this year I am thinking that after we shop my hubby and I should have breakfast or maybe an early lunch somewhere, but maybe – I guess it depends on how much money I spend shopping! ha ha ha. I do plan to knock out some of my list this year because I am behind and haven’t had time to shop (I blame my upcoming release on the 30th!!).

I guess all in all, my opinion of Black Friday is that its ridiculous because it starts so early and people get crazy about it and I think its even more ridiculous that they are starting it this year on Thanksgiving (I will not be participating in that part) but to be honest I DO look forward to it every year because I like doing it with my husband.

I can’t wait to hear what you all think of Black Friday!!!!

And that’s my answer!

Next week’s question:

Because we are doing a special month long holiday edition of TMST during December (look for fun stuff!) I am going to ask this question a little early this year! What have been your favorite reads for 2012?
