You can go there to link up your post this week and get next week’s questions.

Before we get to my answers to this week’s questions I wanted to post a little something extra about Gemma because in all your answers it seemed that you all really like her! Thats fantastic! I know that she is a little hard to get to know so I thought I would share just a little about her (no spoilers and also just post her bio).

Also, quite a few of you wondered why she came so late in the story…. hmmmmm. Well, I will say that in my mind Gemma didn’t really come late… I think really that she wasn’t really needed until now. I think the begining of this series (to me) was about Heven and Sam. how they got together, what they face, etc. Now they are really getting into fighting and facing a lot worse things than just China so Gemma has stepped in. And I also think that knowing how Gemma tends to hold herself back from people, how she kind of lives seperately from them that it took her quite a while to form an attachment to Sam and Heven – enought to want to help them. I think she liked Sam from the beginning but in Gemma fashion she wanted to watch and see what was what. Make sense?

Now, a little about Gemma and her role in the series. You will see her throughout the series. You will lear her background and her story. (mostly in Tirade – book 3) and the next short story in the series titled Beneath will be about Gemma. So you will definitely get to know her better!

Someone mentioned they didn’t have a clear picture in their head of what she looked like. To me, she looks something like this:

I picture her as long, dark, thick wavy hair. Mostly worn in a ponytail. She mostly wears jeans, knee hight brown leather boots and a white t-shirt. She always has a dagger or knif in her boot and sometimes she straps one to her thigh. She is good with a bow and arrow and she will win against almost any man in a fight. 🙂 She is a fallen angel (why she is fallen will be explained during the series) and she spends her time fighting the baddies on earth.

So that’s a little extra insight to Gemma! Now, onto this week’s Read Along Questions!

Questions for Week Two  Chapters 7-13

1. Heven’s mom has a new boyfriend that Heven doesn’t really like. Have you ever disliked a boyfriend/girlfriend of family member’s significant other? Did you tell them or just try to get along?

Isn’t Henry and interesting character… makes ya go Hmmmmmm. Lol. And to answer the question, yes I have disliked a family and friend’s significant other. I have learned over the years that sometimes its best just to let it go. By saying things to your friend or family member it just creates a strain on your relationship. In some cases I have said something and it usually doesn’t end well. Lol. Live and learn, right? I usually just hope that the person will realize that the person they are dating is no good and dump them. HA HA HAHA!

 2. Kimber is acting weird… weirder than usual. Any predictions? Have you ever known anyone like Kimber?

Sure, I’ve known some people like Kimber! I think  I might even have a little Kimber inside me… lol. I like fashion and hair, etc. I don’t think about it all the time like Kimber though. You know the thing about Kimber (for me) is that she really is kind of real. I think most people at some point or another feel jealous or maybe envious of other people. I think that most people just hide it better OR recognize the fact they feel that way and move on. But some I have known let it color the way they treat other people, or are driven by those feelings and I think that’s Kimber. I know a lot of people will disagree with me (and that’s okay!) but I think Kimber is likable because she’s so real. And I know she is acting super weird now but if you read Bewitched after Charade I think you will see what I mean. There are reasons she is the way she is. She’s been raised a certain way, etc. In some ways she’s a product of her environment. BUT I don’t think that gives her a free pass and honestly I hope that in the future we see her try and make a change for the better. I hope she learns that she doesn’t have to act on her feelings of jealousy and can try and move past them.

3. Heven is getting a new “supernatural” power. If you could have one which would you choose?

There are so many to choose from, it’s so hard to decide. There are a lot I really wouldn’t want to have because I honestly think it might be a burden. I see Heven and Sam having to lie to people about themselves and each other. I see the people they tell be put in danger and I see then have to try to control what they can do so they don’t hurt anyone. It seems like it might not be worth it.

I do think that having the gift to see aura’s would be cool – to instantly know what someone is about before talking to them. It would be a time saver and a heart saver because you would know who you could trust.

4. In this set of chapters we find out something about Cole. Were you surprised?

I gotta tell you that when Gran first told me the secret I was surprised but I loved it! I knew there was a connection between Heven and Cole but I also knew that there was no way she would be with anyone other than Sam… plus love triangles are hard to read – don’t you think? Who wants to watch people be torn and it always seems like the guy I like never gets the girl. LOL!

5. Heven has someone invading her dreams. What is the scariest or wackiest dream you have ever had?

I don’t always remember my dreams but I do remember some and let me tell you, I have some whacked dreams. LOL! I definitely have a wild imagination. Some of my most memorable dreams are pretty vivid and disturbing. To give you an idea I once had a dream about a serial killer who would hang bags of flesh from his clothes line in his yard…

No. I’m not kidding.

And when we moved into our last house our bedroom ceiling was vaulted with a fan that hung over our bed and it had cherry wood fan blades… I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the dark looming shape over me and thought a ninja was hanging from the ceiling about to attack me…. I woke up my husband. He thought I was nuts. LOL!!

And those are my answers to this week’s questions! I hope you enjoyed my post and the little extra info about Gemma!

And to make it easy on you here are next week’s questions (week 3!)

Questions for Week Three Chapters 14-20

1. In these chapters the characters go to Italy. Where is one place you would like to travel that you haven’t been?

2. Where is your favorite place that you have traveled to?

3. Kimber betrays Heven in these chapters. Do you think that Heven should get even or just write Kimber off? What would you do?

4. Gemma and Cole seem to be attracted to each other but don’t really want to admit it. Have you ever had a crush you never told anyone about?

5. Who is your favorite character in this series so far and why?

See you all next Monday!

  1. Thanks for the extra info on Gemma! I definitely don’t feel like I have a grasp on her character yet. Great visual. I like so many others I noticed during the read along kind of pictured Gemma as old and ugly. Now that she is flirty with Cole I expect her to be a hot catch for him! Usually saying bad things about a friend’s significant other is a bad idea. Definitely creates tension and either they will see it and breakup with them eventually or I’ll see the good in him and they will be happy. Hopefully the latter. I do think it is perfectly normal and reasonable to be jealous at times and to care about looks and attention. We all want some recognition for how awesome we are sometimes but I think Kimber takes it way too far and hurts Heven, the one person that is trying to love her and give her the attention she deserves. I would like to know who to trust. I think mind reading would be great but I need to be able to turn it on and off when I want. I’m totally with you on love triangles being difficult and the guy I want never gets the girl either! And you fixed that right up by grossing me out. LOL I love Cole! I wouldn’t have minded something romantic with Heven but Sam is the one so this works out best. Glad he will stay a good friend and be an important part of her life. That is a very disturbing dream! I don’t feel so bad now since I shared a gory one. That would be a great plot in a murder book! I might steal that one day lol

  2. Oh boy I am looking forward to getting to know Gemma better. I was just thinking while driving yesterday that a novella on her would be great and now I know my wish is coming. A ninja on the ceiling fan that is funny. I can only imagine Sean’s reaction. I am sure there must be a real life inspirations for Kimber!

  3. Hey, Cambria!

Thanks for dropping by and commenting on my answers!!

I really appreciate the extra info. on Gemma, as well as the picture. I don’t really see her that way, though. To me, she’s older, because she’s obviously very street-savvy. But she does have long, black hair. I also see her as pretty tall, with an athletic, but yet feminine, build. In fact, she’d make a GREAT female cop! Lol.

I can’t wait to find out what’s so ‘off’ about Henry. I just know it must be something major!

As for telling people (whether friends or relatives) that their significant others are rotten, I do think one must tread with care. I would do this more readily with a relative than I would with a friend, simply because I would not want to see a relative hurt. In my particular case, it sure didn’t work, though. I married the jerk anyway.. I just didn’t listen. Perhaps people are more open to such comments from a friend, than they would be if they were made by a relative. This is not an easy situation…

Kimber seems to have major self-esteem issues. However, not everyone with these issues will act like her. If someone does have low self-esteem, they should work on raising it themselves, instead of being jealous of their BFF. Maybe there’s a Kimber inside all of us, but hey, that part of us must be kept under control.

You want the power to read auras for the same reason I’d like the power to read minds — to she WHO my REAL friends are!!!!

Superpowers can DEFINITELY be a burden — just ask Superman! Lol. He’s always having to hide his true identity, especially from Lois Lane, the woman he loves! That really sucks. Having to lie about oneself all the time can’t possibly be a pleasant way to live (unless you happen to be a pathological liar, like my ex! Har, har!!)

I can’t imagine how Gran kept such a HUGE secret all to herself for such a LOOONG time! But I’m very glad she finally decided to tell you, so you could tell us! YAY for no love triangle!!!

OMG. A serial killer hanging bags of flesh on a clothesline? Stephen King would envy you that dream! Me, I’m majorly creeped out by it, as I know you were!

I remember the Ninja incident from an interview with you that I posted on my blog. Too funny!! (Well, I’m sure you didn’t think so at the time it happened…lol.)

Thanks for the TERRIFIC answers!! And thanks for giving us this read-along!!!! : )

  4. That ninja story is hilarious. I’d be terrified if I thought something like that was happening but then laugh my butt off. I like some love triangles, even love a few of them, but yeah, usually they are hard to read and the guy I like never gets the girl, but that’s ok, I’m available. 😛

I can’t wait to answer next weeks questions!
