5 discussion questions:
1. If you were disfigured like Heven (by some sort of accident) do you think you would have reacted the same way as her? (loss of self confidence, hiding yourself, etc)
Let’s see….if I had been disfigured as a teenager this would have been me:
Wait… why is there more than one girl in the picture, you ask?? Because I would make people put bags over their head with me of course!!! LOL. Okay, I wouldn’t. Maybe…
I guess it’s really hard to say what I would do unless I was in that actual position but I think I probably would be like her. I probably would try to hide my face and hide from the whispers from my used-to-be friends at school. I mean there have been times when I have gotten a bad haircut and worn hats and not wanted to go out. Vain?
Probably but it’s still the truth. Lol. When I was 16-17 years old I was insecure as it was so being disfigured? I probably would have thought my life was over. To be honest I would probably cry a lot and feel sorry for myself at first before pulling myself up and dusting myself off. But I do like to think that the older I got the easier it would be. 🙂
2. Do you think that Kimber’s plan for revenge against Cole (for kissing another girl) is a good idea?
Uh, no. Lmao!! Revenge usually isn’t the best answer but it sure is fun!!! LOL. Unless it backfires… but I got to say that guys usually respond to that sort of thing. You know, seeing “their” girl interested in someone else. It gets the chest beating going. LOL.
I know you want to know if I ever have gotten revenge on someone for some heinous act… like a cheating boyfriend or a BFF gone bad…. Maybe…I can’t give away all my bad girl secrets…. But I have been known to take a box full of items that were not mine to Goodwill…
And now that I am so much older and wiser surprisingly my “revenge” has seemed to get more childish – yet way more fun. When my husband does something to make me mad I pack him the “bad spoon” or “bad fork” in his lunch. LOL. What is this you ask? Oh you know we have a set of silverware that all match except for one odd fork and spoon and it drives my hubby crazy. He calls them the bad spoon and fork. SO when he makes me mad he gets the bad utensils…. HA HA HA!! Take that!
3. In the beginning chapters, Heven is very drawn to Sam but won’t admit it due to her own insecurities. Kimber begins to “date” Sam… do you think that Heven should have spoken up? Do think Kimber should have seen Heven’s real feelings?
I think that if Kimber was really paying attention she would have noticed Heven’s reaction to Sam. Do I think Heven should have spoken up? I can see how it would be hard for her but yeah, she probably should have just told Kimber that she was into Sam. But really, Kimber is pretty determined and I am not sure that Heven speaking up would have changed her plans.
4. Masquerade is broken in four separate POV’s: Heven, Sam, The Hate and The Hope. Do you think having multiple POV’s adds depth to the story? Why or why not?
I think that the multiple POV’s offer a well rounded view of the story. This way we get the details from the main players, through their eyes, instead of only getting the details from one person. I think this gives the reader a better handle on what’s going on. 🙂
5. A great source of strength for Heven is her grandmother. Who do you think yours is/would be?
I actually think a great source of strength for me is also my grandmother. I have been close with her my whole life. I still remember playing board games and practicing math with her at the dining room table. 😉 And now that I am married I would say my husband as well. He is my BFF and I can tell him anything – which I usually do bc he can tell when something is wrong and talking it over with him makes things seem more manageable.
I won’t post a pic of my grandmother because if word got out I would be in Tr-ouble…… lol. But here is a pic of my hubby (Shawn):
Can’t wait to read all of your answers!! Happy Thursday!
