Title: Ethereal (Celestra #1)

Author: Addison Moore

Genre: Paranormal YA

Format: Ebook

Synopsis (courtesy of GoodReads):

When her newly remarried mother moves the family to Paragon Island, to a house that is rumored to be haunted, Skyla finds refuge in Logan Oliver, a boy who shares her unique ability to read minds.

Skyla discovers Logan holds the answers to the questions she’s been looking for, but Logan’s reluctance to give her the knowledge she desires leaves her believing Logan has a few secrets of his own.

Skyla’s bloodlines may just be connected to the most powerful angelic beings that roam the earth, and the more she knows, the more danger she seems to be in.

Suddenly an entire faction of earthbound angels wants her dead, at least she still has Logan, or does she?

My Review (courtesy of me!):

This book is a real page turner. I was drawn into the book immediately, Addison Moore definitely has a way with words and painting a picture with her words. The story line was intriguing and I was always asking questions as I read, wanting to know more.

The setting of this book was also something I really enjoyed. The foggy little island and the rain makes it a place that I would love to go and live. I also was intrigued by the residents of the little island. Most of them very wealthy and the whole place seemed like an exclusive residence for the uppercut and elite (which, maybe in a way it was *wags eyebrows*).

Skyla is a likable character and I enjoyed reading the book from her point of view. I liked hearing her impression of the people and places around her. Her new friend Brielle was amusing and liked guys, parties and girl power. I even liked Skyla’s irritating (to her) step brother. Even though he annoyed Skyla underneath it all they were there for each other most of the time. Logan and Gage were big parts of the story and I liked them both. I tended to favor Gage over Logan. I quite put my finger on it but something about Logan bothered me throughout the book. I felt like I waiting for him to do something heinously evil or admit some huge secret that he had been keeping.

Skyla  is of course, torn between the two guys but she seems to make her choice early on but then waivers between them. To be honest, sometimes this annoyed me. I felt like she made her choice a little too quickly without getting to know both of the guys fully. I will say though, that just because she made her ‘choice’ doesn’t necessarily mean she will stick to it, I do know there are a lot of books in the series yet to come, lol.

All in all, this book is full of mystery and keeps the reader guessing until the final pages. There are some things left unanswered so have book two ready because you are going to want to read it right away!!

So there you have it. My opinion.
