Welcome to Werewolf Wednesday where the moon is always full and I am howling. Every single Wednesday I will be profiling a new werewolf from books, TV or movies. I might also mix it up a bit some weeks and throw in some other furry fun!! Please feel free to join and howl along with me every week!

This week I am profiling the very first FEMALE werewolf for WW. Now, as many of you know I have a very concrete set of rules for werewolves (you don’t know what they are you say? – I feel a WW post coming on….) but this is one I have been not really changing (not yet anyway) but reconsidering. To me girls are NOT werewolves. They just aren’t. It isn’t hot. LOL!!! No, but seriously, werewolves are supposed to be scary, mean, arrogant, pig headed and macho… things that girls shouldn’t be. (hey I didn’t say that you had to agree OR that my idea wasn’t sexist but there it is….)

Anywho, this female werewolf has won me over because if girls were to be werewolves then they should be exactly like her. So that has earned her a spot on this esteemed Werewolf Wednesday! LOL!!!!

Werewolf:  Calla

Series: Nightshade Series; Books: Nightshade, Wolfsbane, Bloodrose

Love interest: Ren and Shay (major love triangle here peeps)

Werewolf enemy in this series:

Stats: Tall, thin, blond, Alpha Female

What she drives:  She doesn’t drive anything. She’s pure wolf. lol

Characteristics: The reason I like Calla is because she has some characteristics that I truly admire. She is strong and she doesn’t pretend to be otherwise. She thinks for herself and doesn’t apologize for it. She is in control of the way she behaves… meaning even when she doesn’t want to do something she does it anyway and most usually with grace because that’s the kind of person she wants to be. She is also very powerful (ahem, alpha alert!) but she isn’t mean and she doesn’t wield her power like a sword to cut others down. To me, that is a TRUE alpha. She’s also really pretty. J And one more: she cares about others and her friends.

Why she’s so hot: well, the guys would have to answer this… but… I think it’s because she’s blond, she thin, tall and has confidence. I guess that’s why two guys are drooling over her the whole series. LOL!!

Here is how I imagine her to look:

Yes, this is the cover to Nightshade but this really is how I see her. Blond, beautiful and sort of mysterious because underneath her strong, together exterior she has feelings and issues that she wrestles with just like everyone else.

She’s such a good girl werewolf I give her 5 full moons to howl at!

Happy Wednesday!!

  1. Loved the line about guys having to ask why she is hot. I love the covers on this series and yes I still need to pick it up sometime. Happy Wednesday.

  2. Elena from Bitten & Frostbitten is a cool female werewolf. She’s a tough cookie and of course is chased by all the male werewolves.

  3. For sure I thought you were gonna put little red riding hood!
