Welcome to Shelf Cansy Saturday where we celebrate the covers that make us drool, sigh and swoon. While we celebrate the words inside a book very often it is fun to celebrate the “eye candy” on the cover. My shelf candy pick today is: Between by Jessica Warman

Elizabeth Valchar—pretty, popular, and perfect—wakes up the morning after her eighteenth birthday party on her family’s yacht, where she’d been celebrating with her six closest friends. A persistent thumping noise has roused her. When she goes to investigate, what she finds will change everything she thought she knew about her life, her friends, and everything in between. As Liz begins to unravel the circumstances surrounding her birthday night, she will find that no one around her, least of all Liz herself, was perfect—or innocent. Critically acclaimed author Jessica Warman brings readers along on a roller-coaster ride of a mystery, one that is also a heartbreaking character study, a touching romance, and ultimately a hopeful tale of redemption, love, and letting go.

Okay, so two things here: Yes, I do have a novella in the Heven and Hell series coming out titled Between (it’s over there —–>) but I really love this cover and really, there’s enough room around here for the same titled book, right? 🙂

Second: This is beautiful- almost hauntingly so. The swing, the clouds and the coloring. I have seen this at the bookstore and its even prettier in person. I love it. It makes me wonder what she is caught between and why she caught there. I have to say I am really intrigued to read this and see what it is all about. And there is also something peacesul about it, yes?

What do you all think?

  1. Very nice cover art. The empty swings create a question and her lowered head makes me wonder what she is contemplating or feeling.
I notice that when I do a search for a book I sometimes have to do the authors name because so many books have the same title. With so many authors out there it is bound to happen and maybe great minds think alike!
Congratulations on your novella. look forward to reading it.

    1. Thank you Laura!!! I agree there are many books out there with the same titles. 🙂

    1. Awww, thanks! I definitely would pick it up based on cover alone as well. 🙂

  2. Great cover, I haven’t come across this book yet but I will be adding it to my tbr!

  3. I highly recommend reading Between. Definitely a beautifully written emotional mystery. Liz’s death happens really early so you get to spend a lot of time getting to know here from the past and present while figuring out who killed her. I was on my toes the whole time reading this book. I was right along side Liz, having as little clue as her, and I love the author for not making it obvious. Liz definitely grows a lot in this story, but my favortie scenes were of her and her boyfriend, Richie. Between was great, definitely a book that needs to be read.
