So without further delay let’s get to the questions and my answers!!

 Questions Week 1 (March 5th): Chapters 1 to 5

1) Kevin Hearne had the most perfect beginning for this book:  “There are many perks to living for twenty-one centuries, and formost among them is bearing witness to the rare birth of genius.”  If you were to live for centuries what do you think you would be excited to see?

If I lived for centuries I think that most exciting thing would be watching how everything evolves and changes. I would travel to all the places I ever wanted to see and then go back in a 100 years and see it all again but it would be like a new experience all over again!

2)In the 2nd chapter we learn about the amulet and its protection powers!  Do you think having met the Morrigan and heard about Aenghus Og that it will be enough to protect Atticus?  I mean the Morrigan has a point about hot chicks coming after him and his defenses might be down! He is very male!

He definitely is male and I am thanking someone for that because I like a good strong male. LOL!! I think every man (and woman) has weaknesses, and it seems that Atticus realizes what his weaknesses are – so perhaps he might be better prepared than some men who think arrogantly that they do not have any weaknesses. I’ve always thought that it takes a strong person to even admit weakness, which Atticus has done. I admit that at first I really doubted the amulets power – I mean can a little charm necklace really keep him alive against what he is up against? But then he said how long it took him to make it. That is a very very long time and I would think that something that took that long to create had to be worth the effort – otherwise he would be a stupid man who wastes his time and Atticus is not stupid. Plus, Morrigan certainly believed in the amulets power as she struck quite a deal to secure one for herself. So, I think that the amulet may be strong enough to protect him but only if he keeps his pants on. LOL.

3) The literary world’s coolest dog is introduced in this chapter!  Did you love Oberon immediately?  Show me a picture or describe the type of animal you would love to have as a talking companion! (Cat, Dog, Mouse, Sloth, Horse—what is your pick–pictures please)?

I did love Oberon immediately! I just wanted to scratch his belly and heed him dog treats! Lol. He seemed like such great company too! You would never be lonely with a dog like that to talk to. And he seemed intelligent and definitely wanting to please his owner.

The type of animal I would like to have as a talking companion…. Well, I actually have a dog that I absolutely love. Her name is Cocoa and I have only had her since this past summer and already I couldn’t imagine a day without her. She would be the BEST to talk to. Here is Cocoa:

And I could tell you exactly what I would NOT want to talk to me. If something like this talked to me I would do one of two things: A.) Pee my pants. B.) Pass out. Actually what I think I would do is pee my pants then pass out. Lol. So here is the animal I would NEVER want to be my talking companion. (actually I wouldn’t want it around me at all , lol)

4) In this chapter Flidais asked Atticus what his name is and then precedes to ask if anyone actually believes he is Greek?  He says nobody pays attention to names here.  Do you know what your name means and where it comes from?  Or do you have a name you wish had?  Let’s talk names!

Now, without sounding conceited I have to say I actually like my name. Cambria is a unqiue enough name. I have never actually met anyone with my name but I have seen someone on Twitter with it and someone else emailed me to tell me that they had a little girl named, Cambria. 😉 I also know that the name Cambria used to be the name of the country that is now called Wales. When I looked up the meaning is simply said “Wales”. LOL. Not a very good meaning.  It is also a vineyard, the name of several U.S cities and the name of a rockband (Coheed & Cambria).

Now my last name, Hebert…. That could use some work! LOL. I get called all kinds of crazy things. Herbert being the most usual. Lol.

So all in all, I like my first name. My mother once told me that she had planned to name me Echo until she heard Cambria…. LOL. I think I got the better name in the end.

5) We learn about Atticus’ lawyers in this chapter, a rather unique combo!  Without jumping ahead, would you hire a lawyer combination of two supernaturals who on the surface would appear to be natural enemies or at the very least two very Alpha attitudes? What would be the positives and negatives of that decision.

Well…. The positives for me would be that I got to stare at a werewolf all I wanted… and it is a given rule that werewolves are HOT!!! LOL.

But seriously, I think the positives would be that two very strong people would be on my side. I mean better to have them as friends (or on the payroll) than enemies. I think it would also be a good thing that they are very different, from different worlds (per say) because they would have different viewpoints that they could compare and then combine for a good strategy. I think it also tells a lot that because they do appear to be enemies and they are both alpha’s that the very fact they have an alliance are able to work together shows how in control they are of their own lives.

The disadvantages might be that if they ever decided their alliance was over they would probably kill each other and then you would have NO lawyers. Lol. Also, I would think that when an important decision would need to be made there might be a lot of arguing and yelling which can be exhausting. He he he.

I would hire a team like this because really aren’t two strong partners better than one?

*Plus, I really do love me a hot werewolf. Lol.

So those are my answers for chapters 1-5. What a great book so far! I can’t wait to read even more and also hop around to see everyone else’s answers!!

Happy Friday!

  1. To funny but I totally agree! If my dog one day started talking to me I would absolutely freak out.

I love your name! It reminds of a really fine white wine and it so very unique. It has a ring to it that you don’t forget 🙂

Werewolves are hot!!! My friend Ruby would say #nakedwerewolves RULE!

  2. Author

I think your friend Ruby and I would get along very well…..LOL.

And thank you for stopping by!

  3. OMIGAWD! That thing freaked me out too. I would never want that near me, ever. 🙁
That’s a great name, I like how it sounds. Definitely better name than Echo lol. 😉

    1. LOL!! I know right? that thing is scary!
Yeah, I don’t know what my mother was thinking with the name Echo…. LOL.

  4. Melt my heart, why don’t you Cambria!!! Cocoa is the most adorable dog ever! What kind of dog is she? She looks like she’s from the teacup variety.

And I really like how unique your names is too. Your mom chose wisely. 🙂

I agree about Atticus needing to keep his pants on to make smart decisions. LOL

    1. Cocoa is a chihuahua and a yorkie mix. She’s a puppy there… she is about 7 months old now but is still under 5 pounds. 😉 She is little.

I think if most men would keep their pants on and think first… the world would be a better place. LOL!!!

  5. Ba ha ha ha…now where have I seen that before..could it be Zombie Chickens? What Cambria doesn’t have some exquisite meaning? I am disappointed. I love Cambria, now Echo sounds like something hippies name their kid. I had these patients in Idaho and they named their kids Liberty, Memory and Echo!
    I love Cocoa too cute.
Oh I am sure you will keep on reading waiting for the not werewolf!

    1. BAH AH HA. it does sound like a hippie name doesn’t it? A my mom wasn’t even a hippie. LOL….

And yes, that was originally from zombie chickens and i have had nightmares about it ever since!!! I blame you! lol.

Indeed, I am always waiting for a hot werewolf!

  6. I’m so excited to see your reading this book! I LOVE this series SO much!
Your dog is SO FREAKING ADORABLE! I just want to reach in and give him a big ol’ squeeze (not too hard cause he’s just so teeny…).
I love your name! You’re right it IS unique. But it’s also easy to pronounce so people aren’t always asking (or shouldn’t be anyway) how to pronounce it.
    Hope you’re loving the book!

    1. Hi Candace! I am loving the book, thank you!!! Great to see you doing the read along too! It’s been so fun so far!

Cocoa is teeny and she is the first small dog I have ever had and I am always terrified i will step on her or sit on her…. lol.

My name easy to pronounce but you would be surprised the amount of people who bungle it up! lol. mostly when i was a kid though, one time i remember someone called me Kangaroo! bah ha ha ha.

  7. So much cuteness in such a small little body. Love Cocoa.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with liking your name! I mean, it’s yours. Enjoy it! 😉

    1. I will drink to that!! Here Here! (by the way it’s coffee in my cup not the usual traditional toasting beverage) he he

  8. Right?! I love me some HOT werewolf, too!

I actually have a relative named Cambria. I’d never heard it other than her, so I’m VERY glad to meet you! 😀 Although, I’m considering calling you Echo from here on out. I’ve decided Felicia is more fun as Fiona as well, so you are not alone! LOL!

OMG, I’m not usually a dog person, but Cocoa is SO adorable I want to take her and wrap her up and never let her go. Cutest thing EVA!

    1. Thanks!!! She is a super cute doggie!

Wow, its great to meet someone who knows another Cambria! lol. Maybe I will use Echo as my bar name and when we go out we can talk in code to each other and use our names. LOL!!!!!

    1. I think its a rabid Emu but maybe it is an ostrich…. who the heck knows… but it is SCARY!

    1. That’s a good way to put it, I used to just say Cocoa was spoiled but now I see the error of my ways….. I am her slave. lol.

  9. Did Cocoa get her named because she can fit inside a cup?
One thing about the freaky looking critter who you don’t want to talk to you (lol by the way) – at least it looks as though it could look after you – and lets face it everyone else will have peed/passed out!
    Lynn 😀

    1. My daughter actually named Cocoa….. not sure why she chose that name…. but she could have fit into a cup so thats a great reason! lol.

You are right, that thing would be a good protector but I think I will take my chances with the my attackers…. LOL

  10. omg.. is your dog full grown?! Reminds me of Gizmo. How freaking cute!!

And yes, I’m thankful that Atticus is very male too >:D

I think of Cambria, CA when I see your name. Which, btw, is a beautiful place

  11. Your wee pup is soooo cute! She’d get along well with my little one. And, yes, I’d totally fall over if my pups actually started to talk to me.

I do love a good, strong male character and Atticus certainly fits the bill!

  12. You make a great point. Atticus did put a lot of thought into that amulet and it did take him a long time to create it. He’s got brains and knows how to use them, at least most of the time! 😉
