Shelf candy saturday is an awesome weekly meme hosted by Stephanie over at Five Alarm Book Reviews http://www.fivealarmbooksreviews.com. This is a meme where we celebrate covers that we find beautiful and interesting. For more information visit Stephanie’s blog.

This week I got inspired for Shelf Candy by taking a trip to Barnes and Noble and browsing the endless aisles of books. I took pictures of all the covers that really caught my eye and when I sat down to write this post I had an awful time deciding which one I wanted to post. lol. But I finally chose. And the chosen cover surprised me a bit because to be honest it isn’t the most eye catching cover I took a picture of today. While it DID catch my eye and I DO love it I have to say that what tipped the scales on my choosing it was the synopsis and what the book is about….

you know what that means, don’t you?

Yup. A werewolf book. lmao.

But I think you will agree that this book looks fantastic!

So here is my choice for Shelf Candy:

Unleashed (A Wolf Springs Chronicles)

Isn’t this great looking? I LOVE that moon and the trees and the way the moon just hangs there, full and mysterious. I bet it would be a cold night and the sky would look that crip blue color by the light of the moon. And the girl… I can’t quite decide if she is in pain and scared or if she is feeling passion and love… makes me want to read the book so I can find out.

What do you think?

So I know, I said that what tipped the scales for this feature was the book description. I have to say the one I found on Amazon is very short:

Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie, the New York Times bestselling authors of the Wicked series, have created an entirely new trilogy with the passion of Twilight and the grandeur of Fallen. The Wolf Springs Chronicles introduces readers to a town of secrets and the new girl who’s about to start believing in werewolves.

But they also give a media clip and THIS is what caught my eye. Yes, its a trailer but its like a movie, its not pictures and music and I hope you will take the whole 32 seconds it plays to watch it, I would like to know if you think it looks awesome too.

Did it make ya wanna read it, huh, huh, huh???? LOL.

If that wasn’t enough motivation let me tell you about the authors:

NANCY HOLDER and DEBBIE VIGUIE are the authors of the bestselling Wicked series. I know a lot of people LOVED the Wicked series. I haven’t read it yet but I have heard good things.

I can tell you that I will be reading this book very soon because it has gotten me all excited. LOL.

So that’s my pick for Shelf Candy Saturday. Come back next week to see one of the other books that I took a picture of at Barnes and Noble!!

  1. Dang! This week I keep seeing covers I almost picked to use as my shelf candy! I guess it is a good thing something told me to move on and I am glad to see it somewhere else!! I agree. The trees, the moon, and the way the man is holding the girls face. Ah! Makes me want to read it just so I can know if she is in fear/pain or enjoying it just like you said. Great pick this week!

  2. OH MY that video was really jarring. In a good way though – just the kind of thing I’d want to see in a book :). I like the cover but I agree with you that the trailer was what did the trick. Great post! Thanks for stopping by, Cambria.

I totally agree! When I looked up the synopsis on Amazon the video came up and I thought that was a little odd because I had never seen that before. So i watched it thinking it would be like all the other book trailers but it wasn’t and I really liked that. It caught me off gaurd and I really hope this book does the same. 😉 thanks for watching the trailer.

  3. Wolf Springs? It sounds like your kind of place. I love the mysterious look and the coloring of the cover. That moon is so vivid that it makes me want to howl. The trailer is a nice addition. I think that might be a Valiant that they are riding in. It looks like that car that my husband had in high school.
Thanks for your shelf candy post.

      Thanks for stopp!

  4. Oh, this cover would make a great movie poster for an Alfred Hitchcock movie! It has that edgy ’50’s look to it, making one think of danger, mystery, and forbidden love! Although I don’t quite like the way the young woman looks like a passive victim, yet again, she might simply be swooning at the touch of her beloved’s hand. The moon looks on, shining beautifully, and framed by skeletal tree branches.

This is SO going onto my TBR list!! Thanks for sharing!!! : )

BTW, I Book Tagged you, too, on the 17th. I didn’t know you had already been tagged… Well, if you want to answer my questions as well, you’re more than welcome to!
