|January 31, 2012||Posted by Cambria under Tell me something Tuesday|
Welcome to my weekly meme Tell Me Something Tuesday where I ask you something and you tell me the answer!! It’s as simple as that and I thought it would be a great way for all of us bloggers to get to know one another! So this is how it works: I post a question here on my blog and then i give my answer. I invite all the bloggers to take the question and post it on their blog with their answer and we can hop around and see what everyone says! If you are a blogger don’t forget to leave your link at the bottom of this post! If you aren’t a blogger – that’s okay too!! Leave your answer in the comments section!
Tell Me Something:
What is the saddest book you have ever read?
I normally avoid sad books at all costs. LOL. I read for entertainment, to help me escape from the real world for a bit and usually I don’t want to be sad. However, I have read some sad books – mainly because I didn’t know they would be sad when I first picked them up.
I have top two sad books and I actually read both of them this month. (Its been an emotional month for me, lol!!)
The first book is: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I know, some of you might be like, what? Why? Well, I there are quite a few sad parts in The Hunger Games and if you have read it you know what I mean. But this book was just very emotional for me to read. I really seemed to become involved with Katniss and the other people involved in the story and when tragic things happened I was deeply affected. Aside from the deaths in the book, I found the conditions that everyone had to live in and endure in each district to be sad and just the way everyone seemed to endure life rather than live it was just something I probably won’t forget.
The second book that I found very sad (and it really surprised me because I did NOT expect it to be sad) was:
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
I don’t really want to go into what made it so sad for me because it would give away a lot of the plot and I don’t want to ruin it for other people, but let me just say that I actually cried while I was reading this book. While I enjoyed the story I really didn’t like that. I will say that I think it really hit home for me though because I have experienced something like Clara does in the book. It was beautifully written though and I think that is one of the reasons it affected me the way it did. (review for this book to come soon on the blog!)
So those are my top two sad books (sorry I couldn’t limit myself to only one!!)
Now it’s your turn to Tell Me Something!!
